WOW! I just finished Module 1/Week 1 of my first class in my graduate studies program.

Lessons learned this week:

1. When the ASU Executive Coach tells you that you will spend 20 hours a week studying you should believe him. You will find me with my nose in a textbook on weekends and evenings for the next 2 years!

2. Online classes may actually make you more connected to classmates than face-to-face classes. I am so excited about meeting people from all over the country. So far I've met classmates from Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, Texas, and Arizona.

3. Just because you've been an educator for 25 plus years doesn't mean you really know a lot about curriculum, assessment, and instruction. I'm amazed at all the things I've learned in just one week.

4. Before beginning a plan of study get an eye exam. The ten point font in textbooks is just too small for these eyes! I am sporting a new pair of reader glasses. I hope I look scholarly!
